Wave 3 | Prompt 2: A myth, legend, or conspiracy theory believed by many to be true
Type: Myth
I had the idea that most people thought the Ancient Dragonkin were extinct, as they had not been seen for a long time. However, eventually, they show themselves again, after like 100 years or something, because there are rumors that the Wyrm of Chaos has plans or something of a resurgence, threatening to cause suffering once again.
The myth of the Ancient Dragonkin has changed over time; initially being that they had not been sighted in over a century following the conclusion of the Draconian War. Despite their absence, rumors and speculation surrounding their continued existence persisted. While some held onto the hope that they still roamed the world, others welcomed their apparent extinction, attributing the devastation wrought by the Twenty Year Scourge and the Draconian War to the Ancient Dragonkin.
There have been a few reports of sightings over time, but they are happening more frequently, until one day an Ancient is found just fully out in the open. This first started with Zoltar, or the Drake of the West.
(Using the short idea I had a while ago where the Drake of the West was freaking out for some reason, probably because he somehow found out about the Wyrm of Chaos wanting to cause chaos again or something)
As time passed, the mythical creatures began to make more frequent appearances in public, sparking concern rather than excitement. It was evident that the fearsome Wyrm of Chaos was showing signs of a resurgence, threatening to sow suffering once again. Among the first sightings was the increased presence of Zoltar, known as the Drake of the West, who was observed traversing the depths of the Forgotten Forest with greater frequency. Concurrently, Airigold, revered as Golden Claw, was sighted attempting to pacify Zolt, indicating a disturbance within the realm of these enigmatic beings.
So the myth has evolved into Ancient Dragonkin no longer existing, to they are still alive today, which gets proven to be true once they accidentally show themselves.
